Story: Hobbies

Mood Music:  "Dangerous" - Cascada

Characters:  Knockout, Dr. Nayar (Tali)

...I don't even know, Ruki.  I don't even know.  There wasn't even high grade involved.  But it was late.  And...  ...eeup.

--------------------------------------

Knockout's engine purred idly as he rested on his tires outside the Primus forsaken barn.  The sun was warm across his hood, and no one was snarking at him.  But the real treat?  He'd pestered their main human into waxing his plating.  Fleshy digits aside, the feeling of the cloth rubbing in a good layer of wax that made his plating gleam like the edge of a blade was simply glorious.  He didn't care who knew it.  Frag them.  This was fabulous.

Revving a bit just to make her jump at the sudden noise, Knockout was thoroughly enjoying himself.  He didn't even mind when she smacked his hood in reproach.

"Easy, darling, or you'll just have to buff it again," he said with an obvious, devious grin to his voice.
"You're just lucky I like you so much.  I don't see anyone else willing to put up with you."

"They just don't know how to handle me."

Tali huffed indignantly, but she was smiling and her hands never faltered.  It figured.  Regardless if her patients were even lower ranking life forms than humans, only a surgeon could so expertly shine him up like this.  She almost - almost - put Breakdown to shame, and it wasn't even fair to his deceased sparkmate when her hands were so much smaller than his.

Abruptly, Knockout's good mood sidled off, and the rumble of his engine dropped.  For a moment.  Then he was back to his sassy self.  She didn't comment, but he had the annoying impression she somehow knew anyway.  Tali was like that.  It could make her so frustrating at times.  Until he remembered she was easily bullied into this.
